Before I spend big bucks on a replacement power adaptor, does anyone know:
My G3 clamshell iBook's power adaptor / charge LED just started flickering on & off instead of glowing solid when connected to AC, and the power icon no longer shows connected to AC - also the battery is going flat & I can't rechagre it any more. So obviously I have a problem. I've reset the PMU but still no joy. Google doesn't tell me anything about this problem.
My machine was second-hand and the power adapter shows signs of having been opened for repair by the previous owner so I'm suspicious of it. Can anyone confirm from experience if the power supply is likely to be the culprit? And if so, does anyone have a spare one to sell? It's a 45W power adapter, model number M3037.
Of course I'll check eBay as well. I just want to be reasonably sure that replacing the adapter will do the trick.
