Yes I know it is a sinister plot.
If you don;t have a gmail account then you still have to create a
google groups account - Once you go through the verification e-mail
hopps you are then allowed to edit your membership and set up either
digests or individual e-mails just like the old days.
The big plus is that you can also view read the newsgroup from a web
browser if you are away from your normal machine.
