Senior Software QA Engineer Principal Duties: • Design, develop and conduct system quality test plans, procedures and processes. • Detect, diagnose, and work with development to resolve problems with multiple versions of web-site business logic and database access software. Work with external third party partners to assist in resolving API problems. • Document release content and procedures for presentation to the Configuration Control Board meetings. • Ensure application security by appropriate security testing of business logic and API software solutions. Ensure testing of software compliance with appropriate internal and external security standards • Research and select automated web-site testing tools. Incorporate automated tools and processes into existing test environment. • Assist in efforts to recruit additional software QA staff by participating in the candidate interview process. Train and mentor new software QA employees on procedures and tools as well as security procedures and proper software security testing issues. • Assist in efforts to extend software QA knowledge base by researching external best practices subject matter such as open source software quality testing community publications, test software vendor web sites and reference books. Qualifications: Requires a BS in computer science or engineering/technical field or relevant job experience. • Deep understanding of QA and testing methodology and processes. • Strong familiarity with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, XML, SSI, PHP • Must be familiar with SQL, MySql and Java programming. • Must be familiar with Linux/Unix systems, Apache and Tomcat and also feel at home using shell, perl. • Know and understand the main protocols of Internet network. • Meticulous about details and quality. • At least 5-7 years experience of programming and testing of web applications. • Perl, Python, Unit and test automation experience is a big plus. • Experience with a defect tracking system (e.g. Bugzilla) helps. • Experience with Maven continuous integration software.
