JDE Software Engineer Description: This individual's primary role would be the day-to-day support of this application software. This position entails working with vendor technicians in designing, configuring, testing, and deploying the vendor package. The position also involves developing software tool sets that aid in the support and enhancement of the application. The role will entail the following responsibilities: • Serve as technical subject matter expert on Demand Planning application for user consultation and training • Participate in incremental functional roll-outs, future system integrations and infrastructure enhancements. • Collaborate with other IT groups and vendors for troubleshooting and resolution • Manage data in RDBMS using moderately complex ad-hoc SQL queries • Develop deep working knowledge of existing interfaces between other applications including but not limited to: eVMI (Vendor Managed Inventory), JDE (ERP) systems, and ITSS (Inventory Planning) system. • Develop and coordinate required documentation for configuration and development activities including: functional and technical designs, requirements analysis, cost benefit analysis, test scripts and regression testing. • Working with functional and technical IT team leads to ensure cohesive and consistent priorities and planning on team activities • Adhere to corporate and departmental change control standards and procedures • Liaise with SPHE teams such as Sales Planning, VMI Operations, and Inventory Planning to ensure proper collaboration for peripheral functional and technical impacts • Liaise with external organization such as DADC and retailers to improve forecast collaboration • Liaise with SPE's Enterprise Technology team for the development and support for integration technologies (e.g. Ascential, Weblogic, Oracle RDBMS) Knowledge and Skills • Functional knowledge and experience with forecasting and demand planning applications • Technical knowledge of i2 Demand Manager • Strong problem solving skills and ability think strategically • Skilled in Oracle SQL as a programming language • Skilled in Unix scripting • Strong organizational skills and time management • Exceptional communication skills, capable of proactive and concise communication • Ability to work effectively with both business and IT • Ability to work across multiple time zones and business stakeholders to coordinate and support a global application • Working knowledge of ETL and EAI toolsets a big plus • APICS CPIM certification a big plus Experience • 4 - 7 years of total professional experience in software engineering and support • 5+ years experience in demand planning and supply chain planning solutions (e.g. APO, i2, Manugistics, and etc.) • Previous experience in the CPG (Consumer Packaged Goods) space • Previous experience in running projects through a Software Development Lifecycle such as Waterfall or Rapid Application Development.
