Software Engineer/Project Coordinator Duties and Responsibilities · Act as a project coordinator to program and project managers in planning and executing projects.. Providing project management “best practices” scheduling and planning advice in helping the managers monitor their projects. · Be the resident expert in the use of Microsoft Project, Project server, Sharepoint and in- house tools developed.. · Administer the Project Server: User accounts, project archiving, global configuration settings, develop templates, enforce standards, implement updates, monitor data for accuracy/consistency, and troubleshoot users issues. · Provide training either individually or collectively. · Assist resource and project managers in the generation of monthly, quarterly and yearly manpower forecasts. · Establish and collect metric data on project performance · Interface with the Finance and Portfolio teams to develop tools and reports to advance project management capabilities for new product development. · Develop in-house tools for project teams and functional managers to manage resources and projects. Qualifications Knowledge and Skills · Demonstrated skills in Visual Basic, SQL database development and testing in a Microsoft environment · Ability to work with minimal managerial guidance · Excellent organizational, communications and scheduling skills Education and Experience * BS in Engineering, Computer Science or Information Technology. * 2 - 3 years working experience in science or technology related field. * PMI Membership a plus. * Formal Project Management training a plus.
