In addition, the Information Technology (IT) Security Specialist/Analyst should be able to address the following topics thoroughly: • Access Control, Authentication, Authorization Technologies, Methods and Techniques • Applications and Systems Development • Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Planning • Cryptography • Law, Investigation and Ethics Additionally, a Security Specialist/Analyst should be able to implement security policy, identify security threats, and develop countermeasures using firewall systems and attack-recognition technologies. *Education and Certifications: * A list of some possible certifications that is desirable but not required: • *Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)*Certification is designed to recognize mastery of an international standard for information security and understanding of the Common Body of Knowledge (CBK). • The CompTIA Security+ certification tests for security knowledge mastery of an individual with two years on-the-job networking experience, with emphasis on security.
