EN-779 Electrical Engineer - Staff - San Diego CA or Orlando FL (Local Candidates Only)
A defense contractor that specializes in providing engineering and technician-level support to DoD depots is adding an Electrical Engineer to their team. In this position you will serve as a technical point of contact for all elements of the Avionics and Electronic Warfare Engineering Competencies related to in-service technical and engineering issues for the V-22 Osprey avionics, electronic warfare, wiring, and electrical systems. Duties include: o. Performing engineering services on Electronic Warfare (EW) systems, subsystems, and components including research, integration of hardware and software, test, evaluation, upgrade, and full life-cycle support. o. Preparing specifications for EW systems including subsystem allocations traceable to system performance specifications and developing and maintain technical documentation as necessary to insure effective and efficient planning, execution, and sustainment of EW/ Avionics systems. o. Responding to fleet requests for investigations and perform investigations. o. Coordinating issues with the V-22 Avionics Lead Engineer and provide technical decisions and engineering dispositions. o. Reviewing and evaluating contactor proposals for improved designs/ redesigns and develop engineering designs which can serve as prototypes for implementation. o. Investigating and analyzing avionics, electronic warfare wiring and electrical systems, V-22 aircraft malfunctions and discrepancies, resolve or reduce safety hazards, and enhance performance, reliability, or maintainability. o. Prepare technical reports and briefings regarding completed technical project work, presenting results, conclusions, and recommendations. Requirements: o. 5+ years experience engineering DoD avionics and EW warfare systems. (Prior military service is highly desired but not necessary.) o. BS in Electrical Engineering (Required) o. Active Secret security clearance and be eligible to obtain a Top Secret security clearance (Required) o. Prior experience with V-22 Osprey avionics a major plus. Notes: o. US Citizens only o.
