*Title*: Cognos Developer *Location*: Columbus, OH *Duration*: 3-6 months *Rate*: Market....keep it low *Description*: ** *Primary Responsibilities;* *Provide expert systems advice & guidance to information technology managers (e.g., FIN functional & tech teams, HCM functional & tech teams, data security team, technical architecture team, PS admin/database) regarding all facets of computer project operations in support of an Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) Data Warehouse. *Participates in multi-organizational, multi-disciplinary teams to determine, articulate, & codify business requirements; models/designs and assist with BI support and project team, to establish & maintain the Business Intelligence systems. *Analyzes & designs Cognos/BI Analytical reports on top of the system (e.g., EPM running on PeopleSoft application): conducts facilitated discussions with customers to review current & gather additional business requirements; analyzes & writes business requirements, scope documents, program specifications & system documentation. *Performs systems analysis, systems architecture & design and assistance to data warehouse& ETL developers; maintains system design standards & procedures; analyzes system problems & creates System Investigation Requests (SIRs) & Customer Relations Management (CRM) cases. *Analyzes, prioritizes, & assigns SIRs & CRM cases to appropriate party for action; contacts customers to gather information about system issues; coordinates issue resolution with technical & functional team members; tests solutions & performs quality control; contacts users to gather information on required accounts & their appropriate environment, roles, & tasks. *Designs test procedures & tests system for validity & reliability; ensures logical & systematic conversion of customer requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge scope, schedule & cost constraints; provides data analysis, data architecture & design assistance to functional/systems analysts, application developers & users. *Creates logical/physical/dimensional data models & data dictionaries; writes system requirements, general & detailed design documents; participates in management short & long-term planning & assists in agency-wide policy & program development as impacts automated systems. *Reviews specifications, materials, tools, techniques & methodologies; acts as technical liaison with software vendors (e.g. Cognos, Oracle) *Performs Cognos/BI Training for Users *Creates & maintains Cognos architecture and guidelines *Qualifications: * *Experience in PeopleSoft (EPM/Business Intelligence and system analysis. Multi-module experience preferred (e.g. EPM, HCM, FIN); *A minimum of two (2) years experience in PeopleSoft (EPM: 8.9, PeopleTools: 8.46.05) Cognos Report development and system analysis. Multi-module experience preferred (e.g. EPM, HCM, FIN); *A minimum of two (2) years working with Oracle (Version: 10g preferred) as a database engine; *Two (2) years experience with enterprise data warehouse architecture and/or design with Dimensional Data Modeling, and Data profiling experience. EPM MDW experience preferred. *Two (2) years experience with Business Intelligence business analysis/requirements gathering/strategy and Leadership *Two (2) years of recent experience on Cognos (8 preferred)/BI tool.
