Hello e-Infotek is an IT Solutions company with offices in Fremont, CA. Currently one of our clients is looking for a Production Operations Engineer. Location: Reston, VA Duration: 6-24 Months Monthly Pay: $6000/month Job Description: KEY DELIVERABLES/MAIN TASKS • Ongoing level 2/3 support for NOC and Customer Care / Service Desk for identified and reported production issues. Includes being able and comfortable supporting a 24/7 production environment. • Install, configure and validate application software in the production environment. • Diagnose and prevent service impacting issues within the production environment. • Documentation of deployed configurations. • Documentation of processes and procedures. PROFESSIONAL & APPLICATION SKILLS: • Minimum 2 years in a technical / engineering role. Candidates with 4-5 years of experience may be considered for more senior roles. • Strong skills in test plan development (QA, full life cycle testing etc.) implementation (previous work with software developers and rolling out new products), and general system administration experience (patches, updates, bug fixes, system maintenance, application level capacity checks). • Ability to absorb, understand, analyze and identify critical problems that may result in an outage. • Must be able to work within a team and also independently. • Strong in Shell/Perl scripting and DBMS/SQL queries (relevant certifications would be preferred) • Well-versed and proficient in Redhat Linux and Windows operating systems environment • Knowledgeable in various DBMS - Oracle, Sybase, MySQL as well as queue-based infrastructure - SwiftMQ, MSMQ, MQSeries • Knowledgeable in C, C++, Java, .NET applications with focus on the following protocols - HTTP, Web Services, ParlayX, SMTP, and JMS • Knowledgeable in SNMP, Nagios and monitoring terminologies and framework • Telecommunication skills in SMPP, PPG/MMS, WAP protocols and technologies preferred. • Ability to interact with Sales team and Customers. • Must be self motivated, high initiative level, decisive. • Languages: English (mandatory); Mandarin (APAC, desired), French / German / Italian / Spanish (EMEA, desired). EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND • University degree (or other engineering / technical certifications and diplomas) in IT, Telecom or Computer Science
