*Being very Technical a huge plus. Some travel will be required. Should be
technical sound, managing team of infrastructure gurus.
Project Summary:
The lead project manager for this project is a senior role reporting the OPM
with TR {John Santomassino}. This PM will manage, control and monitor large
and small projects from start to finish.
*The project technical scope consist of but not limited.
*Windows, UNIX and HP-UX based server
Host HW range from IBM, HP, SUN , Dell & Net Apps
Virtualization and Clustering technologies are heavily used
*EMC is our primary SAN (Clarion and DMX)
Load Balancing / 3 DNS
*IP / VIP’s will all need to be changed to reflect the target DC so heavy
networking, app changes and FW’s are involved.
IDCR is another OPM team responsible for the shared service pieces of the
move (Data Migration, Network lines, audits, moving company etc…)
*The candidate for this project MUST also possess (& be responsible for)
*Project manager should be a self starter w/ the ability to go out an obtain
the tools and internal knowledge he or she needs to hit the ground running
5 plus years within the project management space specifically technology
oriented. Data Center application relocation experience is critical and
needs to be proven
PMP Certification is a nice to have but not a requirement
Work with the internal business stakeholders in documenting the application
requirements end to end. Some examples below but not limited:
Identify host, storage, networking, monitoring requirements
Identify client impact with move
*Identify risks / impact
Identify migration approach per product
*Identify *funding *available
Visio diagrams etc on data flow, infrastructure dependencies etc..
*Manage the creation of any move documentation required, this may very but
typically docs would:
*PIA (Physical Infrastructure Architecture)
DCHS (Data Center Hardware Specifications) essentially a kit list
NDT (Network Design template)
Build document (Excel Sheet)
Support documentation (L1 / L2) is updated
Manage project budgets by influencing decision validating / challenging the
solution makes good business and operational sense.
Communicate / coordinate with the IDCR DC team on our Markets plan to move
products on a weekly basis
Sphere head re-occurring meetings with all stakeholders map back to the
project
Working meetings with the hands on players
Management meetings on status and to raise awareness
