Position: Sr. Data Integration Developer and Data Modeler
Location: Pittsburgh, PA
Duration: 8 mths
Rate: Open(but keep it as low as possible)
Description:
My client is seeking a Senior Data Integration Developer and Data Modeler.
The person hired for this position will be responsible for designing,
developing, testing, and deploying data models and data integration (ETL)
software for a variety of information management needs in support of the
brokerage line of business. The selected candidate must have in-depth
experience of data warehousing concepts and experience in ETL development
and dimensional data modeling. The selected candidate must successfully
perform the following job functions:
v Work closely business partners to understand business requirements;
translate business requirements into technical requirements; provide
accurate work estimates for implementation; and sometimes lead, the design
and implementation of data models and ETL software
v Work closely with technical partners such as DBAs, architects, and
infrastructure engineers to address needs and resolve issues related to our
data warehouse technical infrastructure
Other Considerations: Seven to ten years of software engineering experience.
o Two or more years of data integration design and development preferably
using Informatica or another ETL tool.
o Two or more years of Oracle PL/SQL development.
o Two or more years of Unix script development preferably in a Sun/Solaris
environment.
o Solid background in ER and dimensional data modeling, with experience
using modeling tools such as ERwin or Oracle Designer.
o Able to adhere to a formal software methodology process and deliver high
quality deliverables at every project phase.
o Able to interface with all levels of business and technology partners.
o Strong written and verbal communication skills.
o Willing to provide off-hour support on a rotating basis.
o Experience developing meta data in Oracle Business Intelligence
Enterprise Edition is a plus.
o Education: BS or MS degree in Software Engineering, Math or Computer
Science.
