Skills required include Oracle 10/11. Other skills considered a plus include: SAP integration, MS Sharepoint, and knowledge of Publications and Grants Management Software. Create applications from detailed specifications using specified programming language(s). • Code, test, debug, document and maintain progs. • Good understanding of DB and interactions with web tools (Oracle 8-9i). • Good understanding of http request life cycle. • Proficient in HTML, JAVA Script, CSS, AJAX. • Good understanding of Object Oriented design and programming methodologies. • Experience with version control applications and build process (Visual Source Safe). • Experience with Web Services. • Good interpersonal and communication skills. • Experience with multi-tiered architectures. • J2EE (1.3 /1.4). • Siteminder / LDAP integration, jUnit & Ant experience (Nice to have). • Analyze appl reqmts & recommend appl design. • Create detailed project outlines and application design specifications. • Quality reviews of code developed by other staff. • An understanding of and experience with full software development lifecycle including functional & technical specification, development on object oriented design, documentation, QA processes, source control, maint & deployment. • Designs for more complex integration with other applications/technologies. • Responsible for leading a team of developers and managing to project timelines/deliverables. • Understanding of application architecture. • Assist sr. developers with proj outlines & specs. • Expertise involving increasingly complex Web-based appl solutions in an n-tier environment. • Primarily analyzes, designs, develops & supports major Web information systems designs from an enterprise perspective. Is involved in determining the long-range strategic direction of systems. • Provides appls and admin expertise in multiple areas incl server technologies, user interface technologies and infrastructure architectures. • Requires increasing expertise in applicable and various development technologies such as .NET, J2EE, etc. Exp with platforms such as Windows and Unix/Linux and Weblogic or Websphere a must as well as significant experience in Web infrastructure design and implementation. • Prior programmer/analyst experience and thorough knowledge of SDLC & common development methodologies. • The Sr. Developer and/or Dev Lead will typically work with dev team as the sr. bus solution resource and provide solution capabilities to the tech team as well as the end user/customer.
