You will be implementing complex business practices in a challenging, technically advanced environment with the best teammates and the best software tools. Our teams are building the next-generation systems that will improve our clients' work lives and better serve the American public. We need people with at least eight years of hands-on coding experience, with specific experience using the ILog/IBM JRules product. People who know how to build effective code quickly and how to increase the value of their work with initiative and imagination. Developers who have come through tough challenges and know the real world programming practices that really get results. To be successful in this position you must be able to produce high-quality software, communicate well with peers and clients, and have the desire to get better at your craft everyday. To be successful in any of this client's position you will also need a sense of urgency about your work and an overriding ambition that the client succeeds. Responsibilities: . Work in small, high-performance teams creating applications and user tools . Serve as a journeyman technologist: be fully capable of designing and developing code, configuring environments, and deploying technical solutions - all with very little supervision . Seize opportunities to lead the design, development, and integration of independent modules of enterprise-level, web-based applications - particularly for rule-based processing . Configure local, integration, and production environments for project development and deployment . Support quick-turnaround software development in a dynamic and highly visible environment . Double, on occasion, as a maintainer and bug-fixer for legacy Java applications Qualifications: . Complete proficiency in Java application development, preferably including the use of SEAM and Hibernate frameworks or similar . Practical, hands-on experience designing, building, and implementing in JRules . Experience with the JPA, SSO, XML/XLST, Ajax, and JavaScript frameworks, and facility with UML and design patterns . Practical experience implementing rules and application code within service oriented architectures, JavaCAPS preferred . Working knowledge of the leading application server capabilities, configurations, and services . Experience using Subversion, Eclipse/MyEclipse, Jira, and similar developer tools . The ability to develop applications using enterprise-scale DBMSs (Oracle, Sybase) . A familiarity with unit testing frameworks, tools (JUnit or similar), and techniques . To be well-versed in object oriented methodologies and coding practices . The aptitude for learning and adopting new technologies and frameworks .
