Lead Infrastructure Administrator ( Linux / Apache / Oracle / Weblogic ) Location: Reston, VA 6 month plus contract opportunity Description The Lead Engineers role is to ensure the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of the in-house information systems that support core organizational functions. This is achieved by developing, integrating, testing, monitoring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all system components. The Lead Engineer will apply proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to help identify, communicate, and resolve issues in order to maximize the benefit of IT systems investments. Required Skills: Red Hat Apache Oracle Weblogic Strongly desired: Cognos (or similar Business Intelligence tool) DataFlux ITIL Nice to have: Informatica HP Business Technology Optimization SOA Tripwire Responsibilities * Lead the infrastructure engineering team to ensure smooth and reliable operation of software and systems for fulfilling business objectives and processes. * Design, test, deploy and enhance sub-systems assembled from existing applications, COTS software, and operating systems. * Perform cost-benefit and return on investment analyses for proposed systems to aid management in making implementation decisions. * Conduct research on software and systems products to justify recommendations and to support purchasing efforts. * Interact and negotiate with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors to secure system-related products and services. * Propose and create system design models, specifications, diagrams, and charts to provide direction to development and operations teams. * Design and perform server and security audits, system backup procedures, and other recovery processes in accordance with the companys disaster recovery and business continuity strategies. * Integrate servers, including database, e-mail, print, and backup servers and their associated software into enterprise systems. * Ensure system connectivity of all servers, shared software, groupware, and other applications. * Create and maintain documentation as it relates to system configuration, mapping, processes, and service records. * Ensure compatibility and interoperability of in-house computing systems. Create, plan, coordinate and perform in-depth tests, including end-user reviews, for modified and new systems. * Monitor and test system performance; prepare and deliver system performance statistics and reports. * Provide orientation and training to end users for all modified and new systems. * Education - Bachelor's degree in the field of computer science or systems engineering. * 10+ years of general experience in systems design and integration, including server, network, and database technologies. * 5 years specific experience across multiple disciplines (Requirements Engineering, Risk management, Technology planning, design, development, System Integration, and Quality Assurance). * Proven experience in overseeing the design, development, and implementation of large systems. * Proven experience with systems planning, security principles, and general software management best practices. * In-depth technical knowledge of networks, storage systems, computing platforms, applications, protocols, and standards, including: ITIL, Red Hat, Cognos, Apache, WebLogic, SOA, Oracle, Informatica, DataFlux, Tripwire and HP Business Technology Optimization. * Excellent system testing and troubleshooting experience. * Working technical knowledge of java programming language. * Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws Regards, John || Office: 916 646 2080 Ext: 212 || Fax: 916 646 2081 || Email: [email protected] || Website: <http://www.key-soft.com> www.key-soft.com || Note: This email is not intended to be a solicitation.
