Please Respond to [email protected] *Business Objects Enterprise Architect Location: Portland, OR Duration: 3+ Months Start: ASAP * *EXCELLENT COMMUNICATION IS REQUIRED * *OVERVIEW: * The BOE Architect will be responsible for understanding the business data delivery requirements, developing a delivery strategy to support those requirements and perform some delivery development. This position will interact with business stakeholders to determine the data delivery requirements, define specs for developers, mentor report development team on BI best practices and those of Business Objects. The position requires good understanding Business Intelligence concepts. This person will need to be able to think beyond the existing reports and their elements and be able to work with a business stakeholder to determine report requirements the best delivery option. *RESPONSIBILITIES: * Expert experience in Business Object XIr3, Universe development, report analytic development, dash boarding, BO Configuration and Admin functions, expert SQL authoring and tuning skills Expert data analysis skills, Enterprise Data Warehouse experience/design a plus Experience supporting BI in data warehouse environment with BI Industry standard practices Consult with functional/business partners in defining, developing and documenting policies and business rules for data delivery. Define and document data delivery standards, rules, and life cycle management taking into account business requirements and legal/privacy compliance and regulations Build, maintain and enhance policies, standards and processes (as required) with regards to all aspects of data delivery architecture. Provide recommendations to strengthen data warehouse, data governance policies and processes - engaging with relevant external and internal parties as required. Coordinate with functional/IT data owners, stakeholders and subject matter experts, as needed, ensuring functional buy-in, engagement and appropriate sign-off on required project and operational deliverables. Provide thought leadership and engagement on initiatives that involve upstream or downstream data flows and processes. Implement/refine controls, metrics and defect management processes - engaging multiple data owners/subscribers to remedy/reduce data issues and improve data quality. Support initiatives (system and process implementations/enhancements) requiring data load input. Work with management to mature the overall data delivery strategy, policy and standards. *REQUIRED: * Expert experience with Business Objects XIr3, Universe development, and all forms of delivery options i.e. ad-hoc, dashboards Strong SQL authoring and tuning. Working knowledge and understanding of financial data, business principles, processes and technology. Demonstrated ability to influence and foster collaborative relationships with ability to engage resources outside of direct-control to gain consensus, meet deadlines and achieve goals and objectives Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing; interacting with all levels of associates and management within the organization. Organizational skills - ability to multi-task, prioritize, and execute on assigned deliverables. Self-starter/motivator, goal oriented Strong project management, analytical and problem solving skills combined with exceptional business expertise.
