Strong Linux skills OEL 4 and 5, Red Hat 5. Vast majority of implementation will be in a virtual environment ~99% except for Oracle RAC, VCP certification is a plus. ~close to 6000 VM's being managed. Storage is EMC SAN. Length of engagement is from 4-six months. These positions will be working supporting the 2010 IT project rollouts. Key skills: 1. Must be Sr. Linux (Redhat) SysAdmin; minimum 6 yrs Linux experience. 2. Must have build Linux environments on top of VMware infrastructure. 3. On hands experience with VMware ESX, Virtual Center Server, VM cloning in a SAN environment. 4. Minimum 4 years experience building and deploying Linux systems. 5. Desired: VMware certification 6. Desired: Experience working with EMC storage. We are looking for a Linux Systems Engineer who will be responsible for supporting Enterprise systems in our Palo Alto and remote campuses. This person will serve as a member of a dynamic team of administrators who are responsible for the design, implementation, and support of a high availability Linux Enterprise environment. Duties will involve design documentation, hands-on hardware installation and upgrading new environments, enhancing and streamlining existing systems, and replacing and restructuring of legacy systems. This environment will exclusively rely upon virtualization technologies and utilize all VMware products.
