Position Title: Business Analyst Location: Baltimore, MD
Duration: Longterm (multiple years) Rate: Competitive *Position Description:* Business Analyst (BA) supporting a national case processing system (CPS) used by a major Federal agency. The CPS is mainframe based (WebSphere, DB2, COBOL, CICS) with a web front-end to facilitate use. The BA interacts with the customer and reviews respective customer documentation, such as high-level requirements definition and Problem and Incident Reports (PAIRS), to glean and assess business requirements. Subsequently documents them in lower-level documentation (Use Cases/Detailed Functional Requirements (DFR)). The lower-level documentation may include COBOL pseudo code. The BA must also have experience developing SQL queries, and be willing and able to confer with developers and provide them with timely notice of requirements changes. The BA develops weekly status reports to report accomplishments. *Required Qualifications:* - Bachelors Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field. - Four to six years hands-on experience assessing business functional requirements directly related to the development of mainframe-based applications (IBM 390/MVS). - Two to four years experience developing SQL scripts/queries. - Knowledge of COBOL and relational databases (preferably DB2). - Self starter - able to work with minimum supervision. - Customer focused. *Desired Qualifications:* - Knowledge and understanding of mainframe-based development and testing. - Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, to prepare reports, briefings, and demonstrations. - Working knowledge of Quality Center. - Strong working knowledge of Windows XP/Vista and MS Office Word and Excel. - Working knowledge of CMM (Capability Maturity Model) or CMMI (CMM Integrated). *Note:* This is neither a software development position nor a telecommunicating position. -- Best Regards Kumar -- Introduce business in 3800 cities.
