PLEASE DO REPLY AT [email protected] ** * * * * *Database Engineer* Location: Emeryville , CA Contract 6-12 mouths plus extension *Job Description* · The key to this database position is someone with large* *volume of Data Conversion (in the millions of rows) large terabytes database experience, (like experience with large search and service database, music lookup, video, media or anything similar) · We need experience in content and large transaction database, profile data and data cleansing. · This is full life cycle application development position. · Skills: Oracle, 10g, XML, ETL · Solid experience solving large volume of Data Conversion, Validation, Transf or mation, and Load (ETL) problems using technologies such as XML, JAVA, XSLT, Perl, and RDBMSs *JOB REQUIREMENTS* · Deep experience database programming, debugging techniques, and perf or mance tuning, preferably Oracle 10g (8+ years) · Experience with at least two of the following programming languages (6+ years): Java, C, C++, python, Perl, ruby, or PHP · Produced three or m or e complex commercial software applications or software technologies · Expert in software design practices (8+ years) · Expert knowledge of *very large* database technologies and development methodologies (8+ years) · Experience with UNIX as a development and deployment platf or m (6+ years) · Good knowledge of Internet Technologies (4+ years) · Excellent ability to learn systems and processes by reading code · Experience using source code control software such as perf or ce or cvs · Excellent track rec or d of defining and meeting customer-facing commitments · Excellent written and or al communication skills · Good planning and estimating skills · Self motivated, w or ks independently · Generates, enhances, and promotes new ideas · Watches f or changing conditions and plans adaptations · Accepts ownership of imp or tant database processes · Recognizes problems and helps group adapt · Leads by example · B.S. Computer Science, B.S. Electrical Engineering, B.S.
