Rate is corp to corp-- less on a W-2 Seeking assistance in the design/validation of a Microsoft Windows 2008 Active Directory environment which is required to support Microsoft Windows 7 clients and future Windows 2008 Active Directory-aware applications such as Microsoft Sharepoint 2010 and Microsoft Project Server. This new environment will supersede and eventually replace client's current Microsoft Windows 2000 Active Directory. Our current Windows environment contains approximately 18,000 workstations of mixed types (mostly Windows XP), 125 Windows 2000 Active Directory Domain Controllers and about 1500 Windows servers (W2K, W2K3 and W2K8 machines). As new Active Directory-dependent initiatives are already underway in the company, this proposal is mainly focused on design engagements where provider experience with similar situations can be leveraged to effect a short turnaround time for a new Active Directory design. In lieu of a suitable design engagement, an appropriately-scaled consulting engagement for assistance and guidance with specific technical areas of concern will be considered as an option. 2. Process Output and Deliverables * In the case of a design engagement, the output will be: o A logical design document set o A detailed physical design document set for AD infrastructure that includes definition and placement of server types, network services layout and site design o The data model o A risk matrix that identifies and quantifies (=magnitude) specific areas of risk and offers mitigation possibilities o A projected bill of material with separate cost estimates for core and extended infrastructure hardware o Project plan template that includes estimates for time & resources to implement o A Statement-of-Work for the implementation phase o (Evidence (e.g., the use of the Microsoft Solutions Framework, or equivalent) indicating that the design is acceptable and implementation is achievable in the required timeframe, is a plus) * In the case of a consulting engagement, the output will consist of specific deliverables contributing to the overall Active Directory design based on client-defined areas-of-need (possible examples include recommendations for Active Directory domain structure, OU design, hardware / virtualization platforms, networking services, management tools, etc.) Client will negotiate specific requirements for areas-of-need.
