Java Script Programmer Location: Cambridge, MA Duration: 8 Months Client need someone who is a Jquery /JavaScript expert; someone who understands the details of implementing applications with heavy JavaScript functionality. (This includes by definition AJAX.) Responsibilities: * Built plugins/widgets in Jquery or MooTools that others are using. * Architected (developed AND designed) JavaScript heavy (AJAX) applications in the past. * Built applications that extensively leveraged Jquery and/or MooTools (this should include AJAX). If they have done all of these 3 things, that is ideal. If they have only done #3, they will also need to have a strong programming background with object oriented design and application development experience. By the way, deep background in JavaScript is not just using it for validation or for menus. They are looking for deep understanding of JavaScript/jquery implementation issues, quirks, and some internals---the sort of thing that having to solve real problems with JavaScript will result in. This involves heavy use of AJAX and solving specific technical and/or business problems via Jquery/JavaScript. Ideally, this would be a JavaScript programmer rather than a Web Developer with programming experience.
