WA - Locals preferred Long term, Best RATE Complete Description: Works on database management systems, standards, guidelines and quality assurance for database deliverables, such as conceptual design, logical database, capacity planning, external data interface specification, data loading plan, data maintenance plan and security policy. Writes documentation and communicates database design. Codes programs and derives logical processes on technical platforms. Builds windows, screens and reports. Assists in the design of user interface and business application prototypes. Responsibilities: - Develops components of database and data warehousing applications. - Drive technical direction for small to mid sized projects. - Focus is at overall project level. Influence is at the group level. - Assess business rules and collaborate internally and with business owners to understand technical requirements and implement analytical and technical solutions. - Perform logical and physical data modeling as well as assessing business rules; - Implement physical database objects, managing data, building/ extending toolsets, maintain business rules and implementation specifics within the data model; - Develop optimized stored procedures to solve complex problems; - Tune databases and systems for peak performance; implement databases in a Sybase ASE 15, 12.5 and MySQL environments, - Work, provide support and interact with other disciplines (DBAs, Test Team, Technical Operations, other Software Development Engineers and various business owners) in implementation of analytical and technical solutions; - Review project plans, development and test specifications, communicate implementation limitations and data-driven solutions with all levels of project team and management; - Proficient with advanced development tools used by the specific brand or business unit supported. Provides alternative solutions to a given problem. - Effectively resolves problems and roadblocks as they occur. Consistently follows through on details and drives issues to closure. Begins building a cross functional network of key contacts outside of immediate group. Builds positive relationships with stakeholders and provides excellent service to customers. - Work is subject to supervisory review at regular intervals. Operates within the context of defined procedures. Experienced professional with good understanding of area of specialization. Qualifications: • Advanced skills in T-SQL querying language • Strong Excel skills, and ability to develop and maintain complex/ dynamic workbooks • Experience with Access databases and VBA. • The ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously with a high attention to detail. • The ability to excel in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment. • Experience with search marketing data (SEO/SEM) a plus.
