Willingness and ability to learn the organizations business model thoroughly; must become a subject matter expert quickly as it pertains to key software components and systems. Skill Requirements: Requires a bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field with at least 5 years of Software Engineering experience. Must have minimum of *3-5 years of experience with configuring and maintaining Cognos BI solutions*. Extensive current experience using Cognos BI 8.4 tool including Framework Manager, Transformer, Report Studio, Analysis Studio, Query Studio and Data Manager. Ability to create advanced reports in Cognos including multi-prompt reports, drill down reports, conditional lay-outs, and report bursting. Must have experience with dimensional modeling including designing and building cubes using Cognos Transformer. Experience writing scripts for automating *cube builds.* Must have advanced SQL query writing skills including the creation of stored procedure and indexes. Solid understanding of SQL Server database, *ETL tools, and data modeling.* Skilled at working with customers to translate reporting requirements into successful reporting solutions. Experience with *Cognos upgrades and migrating content stores*. Understanding of *Business Intelligence full life-cycle development and architecture. * Hands on Development with *C++, C# or .net is a stong plus* Strong oral and written communication skills to ensure effective intra and interdepartmental communication.
