I am looking for someone with strong knowledge in the BI stack and good solid communication skills. This is an 8 month contract in Denver for a financial institution. ROLE PURPOSE: Assist in the execution of the BI vision through design, development and technical oversight of an enterprise-wide data warehouse. Drive the development, deployment, and adoption of business intelligence and reporting tools; and the delivery of reporting and analytical solutions to key stakeholders. Assist in defining the methodology and implementation of BI technology standards and procedures for driving consistency and adoption of the BI platform across Janus and applying the technology to enable efficient and informed business decisions. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: · Creates, maintains and supports a master data hub, analytical data warehouse, datamarts, BI tools and access to those tools and their meta-data · Interact with business stewards, subject matter experts and stakeholders to relate data and difficult technical concepts in business terms, constantly working to create strong working relationships, adoption and interaction with business areas · Communicates effectively to business and technology constituents regarding BI tools, standards, meta-data and solutions · Coordinate and develop data models, BI and Data Warehouse capabilities to support business initiatives · Establish BI reference models, standards, policies and guidelines · Reviews project data models and subject areas with input to information design. · Works with infrastructure teams to ensure adequate capacity and performance planning · Collaborate with other technical and business resources to establish cross-functional BI standards and policies · Provide support to all BI assets by working through Solution and Data Architecture · Assists in oversight of technical and business aspects of business intelligence · Responsible for the analysis, coding and development of dashboards and reporting solutions · Skilled at data modeling, report development, dashboard composition and user interface design · Responsible for the development and maintenance of reports, cubes, report models and other BI related products and infrastructure. · Assist with product demonstrations and training KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: a.. The ability to successfully work at high intellectual levels in an environment with high expectations where priorities and projects are constantly dynamic. b.. Strong working technical knowledge of business intelligence domain c.. Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, demonstrating the ability to communicate information technology concepts to non-technology personnel. d.. Proficiency with Business Intelligence, Reporting, SQL and relational databases and warehouses e.. Experience in working on the implementation of an enterprise data management processes, procedures, and decision support. f.. Working knowledge of metadata management, creation and associated processes. g.. Experience with business requirements analysis, entity relationship planning, database design, reporting structures, etc. h.. Experience with database platforms, including Oracle and Microsoft SQLServer i.. Experience in reporting tools/platforms such as Cognos and Business Objects j.. Strong analytical, problem solving and decision making skills k.. Excellent analytical and problem solving skills with hands on experience working with large datasets l.. Familiarity with data mining, metadata, business intelligence concepts m.. Experience leading and mentoring other BI users, power users, report writers and developers n..
