Work Location : Lake Mary, FL ,USA Job Description Job Title : Software Applications Engineer/Programmer III Additional Job Description: JEE/Spring Software Engineer Position Summary This position deals with the development and enhancement of a Mobile Self-Service system for Travel and other markets. This project is being jointly developed with the help of several other internal and external software development groups both in the US and abroad. The incumbent will be required to quickly gain expertise in various vendors’ system software during the course of the project. The ability to work effectively in a team environment composed of peers and cross-functional members is very important as is the ability to be focused and a self-starter. Project back-end integration work varies considerably in a range of technologies and environments from legacy host integration and screen-scraped web UI applications to RESTful architected services. On the client, technology varies from legacy WAP mobile UIs to mobile Webkit and native iPhone and Android apps. Ability to learn new technologies and adapt to new challenges quickly is critical. A small amount (<10%) of local and International travel may be required. Project work is conducted on a small team of very talented developers using Scrum. Ability to operate effectively as part of a Scrum team, using Test Driven Development and Continuous Integration is very important. Key Areas of Responsibility The incumbent will be responsible for scoping, design, implementation, testing, documentation and systems integration of software components for this system. Development involves the following disciplines, and others: Estimation Architectural and Interface Design Coding and Refactoring Unit Testing Integration Testing Defect Resolution Documentation Consultation with QA and Business Stakeholders Software Configuration Management Retrospective Continuous Improvement Education/Experience BS or MS in CS or CE or equivalent experience required 5 – 10 years professional software development experience required Experience in Systems-level software design and development Strong Java (JEE) skills are required. JME experience is preferred Object Oriented Design and Analysis experience required Proven experience with AOP (Aspect-Oriented Programming) is required Proven experience with the Spring Framework is required Experience with STS (SpringSource Tool Suite) is very strongly preferred Experience with Spring WebFlow is very strongly preferred Experience with Jira, Confluence and Clover is strongly preferred. Experience with ANT and Subversion is very strongly preferred. Experience with Selenium for Test Automation is preferred. Experience with Hudson is preferred.
