Position * Web UI Application Engineer

Location:  San Carlos, CA

Overview:
You will analyze product requirements, design implementations and
participate in integration testing. You will work with Java web application
and services developers to define solutions for a dynamic meta data-driven,
multi-tenant, high-volume web application. You will be part of a very
innovative, dedicated and high-performance team and need to match their
level of excellence and thoroughness in delivering world-class applications.


Job Responsibilities:
* Help design, develop and implement both internal and customer facing
applications using industry standard best practices and technologies:
Struts, JSPs, tag libraries, HTML, CSS, XML, Java Script, Ajax, Flash.
* Work with Product to understand and refine requirements and help create
world-class consumer-facing web applications.
* Work with application and enterprise architects to identify and build
common components reusable across a variety of channels, application and
other functional areas.
* Work with QA to review test cases to ensure robust releases to production
and participate in the complete development lifecycle.
* Create implementations that support the top-tier web browsers.
* Maintain and enhance existing software systems when needed.
* Review code developed by peers and mentor less experienced engineers.
* Take concepts and ideas and turn them into mockups and/or interactive
prototypes.

Qualifications:
* 5+ years of software development experience, preferably in web
applications.
* Master of in-browser technologies - HTML, CSS, Java Script, Flash, JSPs,
tag libraries, etc.
* Experience with Java IDEs such as Eclipse.
* Experience with jQuery.
* Experience with J2EE application servers such as Tomcat, WebSphere and
WebLogic.
* Experience with source control systems such as CVS, Subversion, Clear
Case.
* Experience with other web-related technologies such as Flash, Ruby,
Portlets, Java web services, etc. a plus.
* Experience in OO design and implementation and UML or other design
specification standards.
* An artistic eye for page layout, colors, styles and graphics.
* Strong Photoshop skills.
* Experience with Firefox Firebug add-on and IDE developer tools.
* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Experience bringing web applications from development to a high-volume,
high-availability production environment.
* Familiarity with basic web application security vulnerabilities and
defensive implementations.
* Demonstrated success in developing and optimizing complex algorithms and
application of computer science solutions.
* BS (or better) in Computer Science or equivalent background.
* Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a fast paced and
rapidly changing environment.
