*Long term* *Job Description * * * The successful candidate will have a proven track record of having designed, developed, implemented and maintained formal descriptions of data and data structures in multiple data warehouse environments. This includes all metadata elements including but not limited to data definitions, data models, and data flow diagrams. The data architect position includes metadata management, business semantics, data modeling and metadata workflow management. The modeler / architect position includes: Logical Data modeling, Physical Data modeling, Development of a data strategy and associated polices and the Selection of capabilities and systems to meet business information needs, data standards, data security and data stewardship. This person will apply principles, theories, and concepts to analyzing and modeling data in order to promote enterprise-wide sharing and management of those data assets. Candidates must be experienced in information and data exchange concepts and methods. This person will support data governance bodies including facilitation, scheduling, and organizing meetings and agendas and meeting minutes for working groups. This person will work with data modeling and repository toolsets (including ERWin and other metadata management toolsets) to create work products or provide consulting services in support of the development of data models and related work products, including reports and briefings. * * *Data Modeler / Architect Measures of Performance* § Analyze data-related systems integration opportunities and challenges § Propose and communicate solutions § Ensure solution designs address performance requirements and availability, integrity and security challenges as well as business functional requirements § Identify impact and opportunities to reuse data structures § Develop, maintain and enforce data architecture-related standards** § Design a flexible model which supports current and future business needs * * *Data Modeler / Architect Requirements* § Responsible for enterprise-wide data design § Responsible for balancing optimization of data access with batch loading and resource utilization factors § Knowledgeable and experienced in designing and constructing data architectures, operational data stores and data marts § Focuses on enterprise-wide data modeling and database design § 7 to 10 years of IT and Data Analysis, Data Management experience, Enterprise Architecture, Enterprise Data Architecture, Enterprise Data Management, Data Modeling (Conceptual, Logical, SDLC, and Business Process Modeling), and Policy development and facilitation are required.
