*Software Engineer*
*Summary: *
The Software Engineer will join the development team responsible for the
development of Tideworks' new RIA product using Adobe Flex , Java and
Oracle.
The ideal candidate must display excellent written and oral skills with
demonstrated interpersonal and organization abilities. A candidate for this
position must be able to work in a varied, fast paced environment.
Flexibility and tolerance is a necessity.

*Essential Duties and Responsibilities: *
include the following. Other duties may be assigned as required.
- Developing robust and innovative Front End GUI in Flex using Blaze DS
middle-tier and Oracle backend.
- Perform testing of applications-unit and system, engaging users/product
owners/stakeholders as necessary.
- Candidate must be a team player and willing to teach and to learn.

- Able to work independently and efficiently to meet deadlines.
- Able to promptly answer support related email, phone calls and other
electronic communications.
- Self motivated, detail-oriented and organized.
- Excellent communication (oral and written), interpersonal,
organizational, and presentation skills.
*Qualifications: *To perform this job successfully, an individual must be
able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed
below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required
for the position.

*Education and/or Experience:*
- BS degree is required. BS degree in Information Systems, Computer
Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent is a plus.
- Minimum of 3 years of development and architecture experience in J2EE
(Core Java and Web development). Experience with the Spring framework is a
plus.
- Must be able to apply knowledge of MVC and Object Oriented design
patterns to implement cohesive client and middle-tier solutions.
- Minimum of 2 years of development and architecture experience in RIA
(Adobe Flex Builder 3.?0 and higher) utilizing Cairngorm framework and Adobe
data services (Blaze DS or Live Cycle DS)
- Experience with test driven development (TDD) with JUnit, Flex Monkey,
or Flex Unit is preferred
- Knowledge of Adobe AIR is a plus
- Understanding of relational databases and experience in database
connectivity and writing SQL (Oracle) scripts and stored procedures is a
plus.
- Experience in structured environment with increasing levels of
responsibility and complexity.
- The ability to communicate and teach non-technical users a must.
- Excellent written and oral communications skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work additional hours as needed.
- Respond proactively to training, technical support and customer service
needs in line with provided guidelines.
