Required: * Strong operational process and procedure development, implementation is required * Experience with Nortel, Juniper and Cisco data networking equipment (especially Nortel 8600 and 5500 series switches, Juniper 4200 series switches, and Cisco 2800, 3800 routers and Cisco IOS switches). * Familiarity with load balancers (i.e. Brocade and F5) * Knowledge of network monitoring and management tools is required. (Solarwinds, HP Operview NNM,) * Ability to quickly understand problems identified by staff and select appropriate resolutions. * A good understanding of basic networking concepts and protocols (i.e. IP addressing, VLANs, routing, layer 3 switching, HSRP, GLBP, OSPF, BGP, etc.) * Knowledge of industry best practices. Ability to maintain a network of peers and associates within the industry Preferred: * Familiarity with the supported applications and operating systems, including PeopleSoft Financials/HRMS, Windows OS (XP, 2003, 7), Oracle, UNIX, Citrix, etc. * Familiarity with e-commerce and web architecture. * Familiarity with software tools and ability to navigate through features and use tools to increase productivity. * Understanding of Internet security practices and configuration a plus. * IP telephony troubleshooting and system administration experience * Experience and understanding of basic voice call routing methods and strategies is preferred.
