Specific experience *with IBM UDB or Sybase is an advantage*. -Experience with *Hibernate and Perl* -Experience of using *Unix or Linux systems, including basic shell programming.* -Good knowledge of object-orientated design techniques, preferably including knowledge of UML. -Good verbal communication skills: ability to interact face-to-face with senior users; to argue a case on a global conference call; to make a presentation to 20 people. -Good written communication skills: ability to write discussion documents and technical design documents for large global audiences. -Knowledge of the following technologies is desired, but optional: *XML, Eclipse, FitNesse, Syncfusion*. -Existing experience of the Securities industry in general and of clearance and settlement in particular is an advantage.
