*Title*: Software Security Architect *Location*: Reston, VA *Duration*: Long Term *Rate*: market *Job Description*: The Principal Software Engineer, acting as the Software Security Program’s Software Security Architect, will work within Client’s software engineering organizations to: translate and define security requirements, establish practices for building secure applications; and oversee the adoption of security practices. This position requires: expertise in defining, managing and executing on a software engineering security practice; architectural skills; development skills; expertise with major software infrastructures (J2EE, .NET, Oracle) and architectures (Web, SOA); an ability to build rapport and credibility with management and software development teams; and the ability to document solutions and architectures. Successful candidates must be action oriented self starters, capable of solving complex technical problems both independently and in a team environment. Candidates must also be able to communicate clearly and effectively to both technical and executive level audiences. The Principal Software Engineer must be able to work with application technical leads to understand an application’s security requirements and the application(s) and data being secured, as well as be able to understand the interrelationships of networks, systems, applications, and policy and the roles that each play in an overall security architecture to ensure that proper security is being built in to all components of the application(s). Further, the Principal Software Engineer will also serve as a software security thought leader for the Client’s, interfacing with senior technologists and mentoring the software development staff.
