Requires proven experience in the design, development, implementation and support of large scale solutions. The position will work within an overall Enterprise Information Management initiative (Master Data, security, archiving, content management, SAP connectivity, Share Point connectivity, performance) to provide *system* administration on an AIX DB2 platform. Education: BA/BS required *Minimum Experience:* Operating Systems- 4+ years or more with AIX Database Systems – 3+ years or more with DB2 Systems Administration – 4+ years or more 2+ years in a supervisory capacity *Core Strengths:* Provides Customer Satisfaction Accepts ownership for accomplishing requests Drives Innovative Business Improvements Embraces & Drives Change Project Management skills Team Player Communicates Effectively Drives Performance Efficiency and Effectiveness Strives to lower total cost of IT over time Ensures successful and collaborative partnership with key information stakeholders Provides effective communication, facilitation, conflict resolution, analysis and interpretation Comprehensive understanding of Information Technology methodologies, infrastructure, and architecture Protects organization’s value by keeping information confidential *Responsibilities * · Manage Outsourcing partner daily conference calls · Escalating application problems to vendor · Secures system by developing system access, monitoring, control, and evaluation · Operate Data Architecture · System Administration · Perform capacity planning · Strong scripting skills · Install, configure, and maintain hardware and a suite of products in a large scale environment · Perform problem resolution and root cause analysis · Trouble shooting system hardware and software · Plan all maintenance windows with sufficient lead time and to run smoothly · Manage currency of software · Work with vendor to upgrade AIX (currently 5.3) · Perform Unix Admin tasks on AIX · Work with vendor to upgrade DB2 (currently 9.1) and Sql server · Steward Outsourcing partner · Increase proactive monitoring · Track and report reactive metrics · Track and report proactive metrics · Designing and running system load/stress testing · Developing Standards, · LAN Knowledge · Proxy Servers Knowledge · Perform Web Application server tasks if needed · Establish and test disaster recovery policies and procedures · Lead upgrade to RAID 5 if needed · Familiarity with SAP environment · Work with teams on performance of SAP and non-SAP applications · Work with the rest of the IT Leadership Team to create long and short-term Business Information Services strategies, standards, methods, policies and procedures to support the business (e.g., enhance efficiencies and ensure compliance). · Responsible for coaching, developing and encouraging excellence from a diverse team · Technical designs that match business requirements; platform component installations · Responsible for identifying and realizing opportunities to improve performance · Gather Time series analysis, end user performance, CPU, Memory, I/O Storage subsystem, san switch metrics · IBM virtualization technologies including logical partitioning (LPARs) , workload partitioning (WPARs) and virtual I/O servers as well as LPAR/WPAR mobility. · Prepare forecasting, trending, statistical filtering, , IBM silos, tape management systems, XIV storage, tier 2 & tier 3 storage, flash copy, response times, global flash copy metrics · Perform CCMS Monitoring if needed · Responsible for identifying and realizing opportunities to improve the platform and associated business processes · Identify new or growing risks that require additional risk and control monitoring · Identify sudden rises in risk levels that may merit immediate attention by the CIO and executive management · Successfully manage and execute all projects on schedule and within budget.
