Position: Technical Architect Location: san Francisco, CA Duration: 10 Months
The Web Architect will be part of a team responsible for architecting multi-site deployment solution for a website for Continuous Availability. In this role, the architect will have to interact with product development, product quality and infrastructure teams to understand current architecture and processes and extend these to a multi-site deployment. Responsibilities • Architect solution to ensure continuous availability of website • Architect solution for Data replication (database, LDAP directories and file systems) • Identify opportunities for process optimization, process redesign, or development of new process/policies to optimize multi-site deployment and operations • Designing load balancing and clustering solutions as per architecture standards • Create and present architectural design documentation • Best practices for development teams to ensure application is ready for multi-site deployment • Disaster Recovery/Business Continuity Plan (DR/BCP) planning • Actively participates in regular technical management/governance review sessions • Strong Knowledge of Web Services, ESB and SOA • Good understanding of Web Server, Application server, Load Balancing, Sizing, Clustering, Access Management, Single Sign on, Session Management and related technologies • Good understanding of key database concepts as applicable to application architecture • Excellent spoken and written communication as well as receptive listening skills, with ability to present complex ideas in a clear, concise fashion to technical teams • Knowledge of Portal technologies preferred • Operations process optimization Operating Systems/APIs UNIX Yes 8 Expert 9-10 Within 1 Year 4 - 6 Years Protocols LDAP Yes 7 Intermediate 7-8 Within 6 Months 2 - 4 Years Technical Websphere (technical) Yes 8 Expert 9-10 Within 1 Year 2 - 4 Years Additional Skills: Technologies – (Experience with related technologies from different vendors would be considered) • Unix - Linux or Solaris • IBM Websphere Application Server • Portal (IBM WebSphere Portal Server 6.x) • Web Services, ESB (DataPower) • HTML and Dynamic HTML • Database replication (Preferably Golden Gate) • LDAP Have a nice day!!!!!!!!!!!!
