Nassau County Long Island, NY * * *Automation Q/A Tester - QTP* Our client, an eCommerce company, is seeking a Quality Assurance Tester for a 6+ month right to hire. This individual will be involved in testing new functionality & features of our client's consumer- facing eCommerce websites. Consultant will be doing 50% Automation and 50% Manual Testing. *Responsibilities:* . Development of test plans and test cases for Q/A projects to ensure product requirements work as expected . Monitor the defect database to ensure defects are being processed in a timely fashion . Prepare and publish QA Status and Metric reports . Provide QA signoffs for production deployments . Help determine automation requirement and drive automation development efforts ensuring they get sufficient attention . Enter and maintain data in the bug tracking tool for consistency and quality . Use appropriate testing tools and follow standards established by the QA Management team . Ensure highest quality of QA testing, by providing coaching, and support to outsourced, temporary, or part time QA resources . Help assign outsourced, temporary, or part time testers to test cases, and manage the documentation of test results . Participate in project status meetings involving the Project Manager, Development, and other stakeholders to provide visibility on QA activities ensuring QA is performed according to plan and in a timely fashion . Contribute to defining and/or improving QA process, methodology, and standards *Requirements:* . Must have at least 2-5 years Q/A web-based experience . Must have automation experience using QuickTest Pro. . Working knowledge of black box and white box testing methods . Experience with Mercury Quality Center . Experience testing in various operating systems and internet browsers . Must have strong SQL skills . Working knowledge of HTML and/or XML . SOA experience a plus . Experience testing on different platforms such as ATG, Websphere, a plus .
