Skills and duties:
•       Worker will design, plan, and coordinate work teams.
•       Follow standard project management industry practices such as the
PMI's framework.
•       Have an understanding of business and technical objectives of a
project and works closely with project sponsor.
•       Create project charter and work plan and tracks budget and schedule
progress via appropriate metrics. Establish project organization and
methodologies and defines roles and responsibilities.
•       Document risks and develops mitigation plans.
•       Manage scope.
•       Create and implement a communication plan.
•       Build an effective team, assigns tasks to team members, and
evaluates outcomes.
•       Negotiate resources.
•       Communicate to stakeholders and project sponsor.
•       Identify, track, and ensure resolution of issues and removal of
barriers.
•       Provide technical support to project team members.
•       Handle complex application features and technical designs.
•       Design and implements the components required for complex
application features.
•       Generally manage a group of applications system analysts.
•       Rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
•       Professional certification is highly desirable


Worker will be responsible for working with technical staff in
planning, documentation and to minimize risk by identifying,
communicating and escalating issues appropriately to management. Help
manage the workflow of issues and defects.

Job Responsibilities:
Responsible for organizing, implementing and completing installs or
upgrades to the following technologies:
Altiris
Orion
Exchange
Virtual desktops
Secure wireless
ESRI GIS
Other Special Requirements:
          Background screening and Drug Testing documentation will be
required prior to temporary staff member begins work with the City of
Arlington.    The City will not reimburse for any travel expenses for
this temporary position.  Temporary Staff member will be required to
provide their own transportation to and from work.

          When performing work for the City, temporary employees will
be required to conduct themselves in an appropriate manner and
recognize and adhere to the City’s safety and security policies, as
well as the City’s dress code. Temporary employees will be required to
sign a confidentiality statement while working for the City.


II.     WORKER SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

                Minimum Requirements:
        Years           Skills/Experience
        4       Project Management Experience
        3       QA of web based applications or windows based applications
        2       Interactive Development Lifecycle (Fountain, RAD, Extreme, etc.)
        Strong  analytical and software testing experience
        Strong  Proficiency with MS office (Word, Excel, etc.)

        Strong  Works well in Team environment but can work alone when
required

        Strong  communication skills (verbal and written)
        Degree or Equivalent    Bachelor’s degree in related field, 5 years of
experience or an equivalent combination of experience and education.

             Preferences:
        Years           Skills/Experience
        3               Experience working with local or County Government (or 
similar
corporate culture)
