We need embedded engineer working in the area of telphony/base station and preferebly in technologies like DECT/Zigbee etc. Position Description: Job Description As a senior embedded application engineer, the qualified candidate will be part of a team responsible for developing embedded software on Linux based Mobile/POTS communication devices. Voice and data will be transmitted from the embedded device. The candidate will be involved in all phases of the product life cycle, from conception thru field support. JOB REQUIREMENTS: • BS from an accredited university in Electrical/Computer Engineering or related field with solid academic record; MS preferred • Demonstrated experience with the full product life cycle, from conception to field support • Minimum 5 years of experience in embedded application development. • Minimum 2 years of experience in development of embedded application development in Linux based devices. • Ability to design, code, unit and regression testing of embedded applications starting from given requirements and work independently in small team is required. • Experience with short range wireless technologies like DECT/ Bluetooth /Zigbee is a big plus. • Experience with voice and data communication over POTS lines is required. • Excellent communication skills • ADDITIONAL PREFERRED SKILLS: • Experience in following technologies is a plus: o Communication devices based on POTS line. o Voice transfer over short range technologies like DECT/Bluetooth/DECT o DTMF experience • Experience in upgrading firmware of the remote devices over POTS is plus. • Experience with writing and debugging embedded applications with or without RTOS. • Experience in writing embedded application that needs to run 24x7. • Experience in debugging embedded applications using tools provided by hardware platform. • A commitment to automated unit and regression testing at the embedded software level.
