Trust you are doing well. * * *Please send resume to [email protected] only. * * * 6 months contract Princeton NJ (must be able to attend in-person interview after phone screen) Qualifications: Mainframe DB2 Lead DBA § Must be experienced in using Computer Associates (CA) DB2 database and performance tools, specifically CA-Plan Analyzer and CA-Insight § 10-12 years of experience, with at least the last 5-7 years as Lead DBA on all aspects of mainframe DB2 Database Administration § Experience with both DB2 V8 and DB2 V9 on z/OS § Competent in using Computer Associates DB2 database tools for Database Administration and Performance Management § Skilled in SQL statement tuning § Strong verbal and written communication skills § Ability to create and maintain positive and professional business relationships with both internal and external customers § Proficient at time and priority management § Experience with DB2 UDB on Linux, IBM OPTIM tool and IBM Q-Replication considered a plus *Education:* The candidate should have a Bachelor degree or Masters in Computer Science or 10 to 12 years of related experience in IT or a related field. Responsibilities: Independently performs all Mainframe DB2 Database Administration activities for ETS projects with minimal supervision. · Strong capability and ability to resolve highly technical and complex database and infrastructure related issues prior to adversely impacting production and ETS business. · Coordinates and/or participates in database stress tests, analyzes results, and makes recommendations for design or coding changes based upon those results. · Plans and coordinates software upgrade activities for mainframe DB2 and related tools/facilities. Ensure all stays current in accord with EAO Lifecycle requirements, with minimal risk to ETS applications and business. · Provides technical expertise to the development of solutions for such items as DBMS tools and utilities usage, database administration, backup and recovery, database performance tuning and monitoring. · As part of ETS DB2 application development efforts: o Runs transaction access path analysis sessions with application developers, analyzing specifications and code to ensure that data access and database designs are as efficient as possible. Make recommendations for improvements in these areas, as necessary. o Using logical DB designs, application development reviews and transaction access path analysis documents, fully utilizes CASE tools to develop or modify physical database designs to support new business requirements. o Assures quality of database analysis and design across projects, thus enabling company-wide data reusability. o Influences development organizations to comply with DB2 best practices, as well as ETS database standards and SDLC processes. o Creates and documents DB2 database modification scripts, performing DB migrations and upgrades. o Assists with migration of DBRMs, Packages and Plans as part of scheduled application releases. · As part of DB2 performance monitoring: o Monitors DB2 subsystems and databases for potential performance problems. o Develops new procedures to improve the DB2 environment, where necessary o Trouble-shoots database and/or software problems as they apply to design, implementation, or installation activities. o Participates in on-call, overnight off-hour production problem resolution activities. o Compiles, publishes and reviews monthly DB2 Application performance metrics, and quarterly DB2 Database growth/shrinkage metrics o Recommends, schedules, coordinates and performs required database maintenance activities. · Complies with all ETS security and audit standards.
