Windows 7 Migration Sr. Project Manager – Contract to Perm *Position Summary: * Oversee 12 to 18 month Windows 7 migration. Responsible for assisting in assigning individual responsibilities, identifying appropriate resources needed, and developing schedule to ensure timely completion of project. Ensures adherence to quality standards and reviews project deliverables. Responsible for implementation quality and success. Responsible for client satisfaction and delivery of value in addition to building stronger relations with the lines of businesses. Manages all phases of the project including the research, acquisition, design, implementation and maintenance for projects associated with IT infrastructure development The role will also include project planning, status reporting, collecting and escalating issues and risks, communicating with the project team, monitoring project health, coordinating business sponsor, requirements, testing, training and implementation activities and potentially post Project activities. * Essential Duties and Responsibilities:* - Meet with business unit leaders and project sponsors to assess project needs for the purpose of initiating, planning, executing and controlling the Windows 7 migration - Provide timely communications and resolution to problems affecting project schedules - Provide project management competencies across the Windows 7 migration - Interface with external vendors as necessary to coordinate contracted services on project - Coordinating work assignments, resolving staff issues, evaluating performance, ensuring compliance with standards and methodologies *Required Experience* *Skills/Knowledge/Abilities Requirements: * - 10+ years of consistent PM experience - Previous experience with *large scale application readiness and migration experience with Microsoft XP, Vista or Windows 7 (preferred)* - *Knowledge of current and future trends in IT industry, fundamental understanding of IT application and system architectures, as well as IT industry standards and best practices.* - Ability to lead project teams across all project lifecycle (Initiation, Planning, Execution, Controlling and Closure). - PMI’s PMBOK hands on experience required - PMO exposure desirable - Budget and time estimating experience - Proven track record on managing resources - Excellent communication, verbal and written skills - Excellent customer service/client relation skills - Excellent organizational skills - Time estimating experience *Education/Experience Requirements: * - 10+ years PM experience - BS in a technical domain preferred * Certification Requirements: * - PMP certification preferred Looking forward to add value by mutually winning possibilities.
