Sr Middleware Engineer Job Description Engineer, design and implement middleware solutions that meet user needs with respect to functionality, performance, scalability, and reliability.Build middleware according to IT standards to meet business requirements. Works on project teams to implement a variety of middleware products. Works with Application developers, Architects to understand application middleware requirements and create middleware configuration to meet these needs. Evaluate innovative technologies to enhance current middleware. Designs, develops prototypes and documents updates and changes. Manages schedules and may train users on upgrades or new middleware installations. Works with middleware software vendors and external technical support on upgrades, problem resolution and design issue. Closely works with Operations team for troubleshooting and patching. This role reports to Systems Engineering Supervisor in the IT Engineering Department. Skills & Requirements • BS in Computer Science/Engineering (or equivalent) with minimum 7 years of application Administration experience or MS in Computer Science/Engineering (or equivalent) with minimum 5 years of application Administration experience. • Significant Experience with Middleware Engineering focussed on designing scalabale and highly available solutions • Min. 8 years of Oracle Weblogic Server 9.2, 10gR3 ,11g • Min. 4 years of Oracle Weblogic Portal 9.x and 10.3 (former BEA Products) • Min 4 years of ODSI ,OSB, OBPM (formerly BEA ALDSP, ALSB, ALBPM) • Min 6 years Experience with web servers, Apache, IIS • Min 8 years Experience with JDBC, JMS, WebServices, Security standards, LDAP, SSL • Min 8 years Experience with J2EE standards Significant experience with unix and Redhat Linux • Experience in Monitoring using OEM and APM tools • Significant experience with troubleshooting multithreaded java application • Prior experience with regulated financial organization is a plus. Daily tasks • Designing infrastructure and weblogic/aqualogic domains for high availability. Advanced JMS features such as distributed destinations, SAF. Advanced Security features such as SSO and SAML setup. Advanced knowledge of multidatasource , Oracle RAC connections • Troubleshooting using thread dumps, log analysis. Providing tier 4 support and root cause analysis • Performance tuning. Analyzing and optimizing based on performance test results • Creating documents and training IT operations.
