Under minimal supervision, writes and/or edits technical documents, including business proposals, reports, manuals, briefings and presentations, guidelines, flow diagrams, and other project deliverables to meet contract requirements. Reviews and edits documents developed by others to ensure accuracy and quality of content, organization, language, format consistency, and conformance with established standards; works with technical staff to develop documentation requirements; develops outlines and drafts for review and approval by technical specialists and project management; and ensures that final documents meet applicable contract requirements and regulations. Researches and gathers technical and background information for inclusion in project documentation and deliverables. Consults relevant information sources, including library resources, technical and financial documents, and client and project personnel, to obtain background information, and verifies pertinent guidelines and regulations governing project deliverables. Performs periodic reviews of documents for updates. Provides guidance to other technical writers. Develops and communicates standards, organization, style guides, and tools and content for technical documentation. *Experience Requirements: * · minimum of four (4) years of related experience performing technical writing, research, and editing functions to prepare data warehouse system documentation, and other contract deliverables to meet contract requirements and respond to requests for information · experience leading a team of technical writers · experience analyzing documentation needs and completing projects with little direction · experience working independently · experience managing multiple technical writing assignments · strong writing and editing skills · active listening skills · active learning skills (proactive in learning a new business) · excellent communication skills (oral and written) · knowledge of authoring tools including, but not limited to Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Visio · working knowledge of multiple database platforms (i.e. Oracle, SQL/Server, Informix, AS/400, Mainframe, etc.) · working knowledge of multiple programming languages (i.e., COBOL, UNIX Scripting, SQL, JAVA, etc.) Education and Certification Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in a related technical field *Data Modeler (Mid-Level)* *Location: Kansas city MO* *Duration: 4 + Months* * * *Description: * · Provides technical expertise for the production of detailed database designs and design documentation, including data models, and data flow diagrams. Evaluates and configures DBMS products to match user requirements with system capabilities. Determines file organization, indexing methods, and security procedures for system databases. Plans and coordinates conversion and migration of existing (or legacy) databases to state of the art DBMS's *Skill Level: * · Significant knowledge of the database management field and the ability to work independently on typical assignments. This level of personnel generally has up to four years of professional experience in the field of expertise. *Task Specific Experience Requirements: * · Skilled in applying data modeling methods and techniques in translating business and technical requirements into a comprehensive data model. Oracle knowledge essential. *Data Modeler Junior* *Location: Kansas city MO* *Duration: 4 + Months* * * *Description:* · Provides technical expertise for the production of detailed database designs and design documentation, including data models, and data flow diagrams.
