Location: LI City, Queens, NY 11101 Interview: Phone and F2F Duration: Indefinite *Client:* *School Construction Authority* (www.nycsca.org): The NYC School Construction Authority (SCA) was established by the New York State Legislature in December 1988 to build new public schools and manage the design, construction and renovation of capital projects in New York City's more than 1,200 public school buildings. The SCA is solely accountable for planning, real estate, and budgeting, as well as the scoping, design and construction of new schools, additions and capital improvements to existing schools *Responsibilities * The Senior Data Warehouse Architect will be responsible for planning, design, development and implementation of an organization-wide Data Warehouse environment at the SCA. The individual will be a key player in empowering knowledge-based decision making through technology, integrating various data sources through solid Extract / Transform / Load (ETL) methods and providing a consistent, accurate and complete view of cleansed corporate (trusted) data. As part of these responsibilities, the individual will develop and steward governances, foster data alignment and develop metadata strategies. The individual’s responsibility for defining the end-to-end architectural vision and direction for DW/BI and Reporting at the SCA includes ensuring that architectural principles for DW best practices, such as scalability, supportability and extensibility are met. The individual will identify, recommend and implement a broad range of architectural components such as, but not limited to Extract/Transform/Load (ETL), BI, Data Architecture and Reporting. The resulting architecture will line-up with overall IT architecture and strategies for the SCA. The individual will define and deliver all required artifacts and communicate status and results to stakeholders in an effective manner. *Required:* - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business, IT or related field - 10 years' experience in IT or related field - 7 years’ experience in DW architectures - Extensive experience with end-to-end DW implementations. - Extensive experience with transforming business rules to metadata definitions - Expert in best practices for data marts and enterprise DWs - DW industry expert with knowledge of best practices in key DW/BI and Reporting technologies, techniques and components - Deep knowledge of all DW-related components (Sourcing, ETL, Data Modeling, Infrastructure, BI, Reporting) - Expert level knowledge of multiple tools supporting those data warehouse components - Expert level knowledge of Informatica - Expert knowledge of data quality and cleansing tools and techniques - Expert knowledge of metadata management and data governance - Expert knowledge of OBIEE 10/11g - Expert Oracle database knowledge and PL/SQL skills - Deep knowledge of data modeling techniques and tools - Ability to take the lead, work independently and work within a team - Excellent written and oral communication skills.
