MEDIA RELEASE: ICS announces its international and national First Nations
keynote speakers as well as successful papers for its 2018 Indigenous
conferences to be held in three major Australian cities.

Indigenous Conference Services (Australia) launches its 2018 Indigenous
Conferences in Cairns, Brisbane and Canberra. Within few weeks of publishing
the events, we've received abstract submissions from every states and
territories in Australia wherein more than 70 % of the submitted papers are
from community-based organisations. Furthermore, ICS also partnered with
selected Aboriginal community-controlled medical and community services
organisations to stage this years’ conferences namely, IWC LTD Bundaberg and
Murri Sisters Association Inc. in Queensland, Maari Ma Health Aboriginal
Corporation in New South Wales as well as Success with Attitude (QLD),
Indigenous Development Specialists NZ/USA) and STARS Institute of Learning
and Leadership (QLD). Hence, the overwhelming responses of the Call for
Papers and call for sponsors clearly indicated the interests of
organisations and individuals to improve Aboriginal and Torres Straits
Island peoples’ wellbeing throughout Australia.

Moreover, this year’s International First Nations guest speakers’ line-up
includes Dr Amber Logan (Maori), Dr Joseph Stone (Blackfeet Tribe USA), Dr
Tsang Wai Hung Wallace (Hongkong), Dr Nina Sivertsen (Sea-Sámi Tribe Norway)
and Ms. Celina Doria (USA). Similarly some of this year’s high calibre
Australian First Nations guest speakers includes Aunty Cheri
Yavu-Kama-Harathunian (IWC Ltd QLD), Assoc./Prof Peter Shine (NSW NSLHD),
Trevor Tim (SWA QLD), Wendy Watego (STARS QLD), June Reimer (FNPDN NSW) and
Di Gipey (Alice Springs Women Shelter NT). Additionally, after due
deliberation of papers from researchers, field experts and frontline
workers, among these years paper presenters are Mr Marsat Ketchell (Qld
