Hi Ben, You are right, this series itself wont affect anything on hypervisor. However, this series is a precursor to L3 E-W (Layer 3 East West) changes.
A logical-switch's "type" would help logical router in taking forwarding decisions. For example, overriding router port mac as source mac with a chassis specific mac etc. In the last OVN IRC discussion, we decided to add L3 E-W changes to this series as well. Hence, v2 will have more changes, which would explain the impact on datapath using a logical switch type. Thanks Regards, Ankur ________________________________ From: Ben Pfaff <[email protected]> Sent: Monday, November 5, 2018 1:10:36 PM To: Ankur Sharma Cc: [email protected] Subject: Re: [ovs-dev] [PATCH v1 3/3] Vlan Support in ovn, northd changes to read logical switch network type. I don't see where this series actually changes behavior on the hypervisors. Can you help me see it? It's not clear to me that these are really three independent patches. Usually, for example, there is no reason to separate a change to the northbound schema and ovn-nbctl changes to enable use of that change. _______________________________________________ dev mailing list [email protected] https://mail.openvswitch.org/mailman/listinfo/ovs-dev
