I was having a look at the calendar and realized that tomorrow (6
August) is our scheduled soft freeze date for OVN 21.09. Since I did a
poor job of notifying people about this, I think it is OK for us to
extend the soft freeze by one week. So soft freeze for OVN 21.09 will be
13 August.
As a refresher, after soft freeze, we will only consider feature patches
that have already been posted. Two weeks after soft freeze, we will
create the ovn 21.09 branch and declare hard freeze. At that point, only
bug fixes will be allowed into the 21.09 branch.
If you have specific feature patches that you intend to be in 21.09,
please list them as a reply to this email and we will do our best to
ensure that they are reviewed promptly.
I want to commend the community as a whole at how small the backlog is
on OVN patchwork at the moment. Unlike with 21.06, I suspect we will be
able to get the patches that are currently up shepherded through and be
able to hit our hard freeze date on time. Thank you everyone!
