Thanks for v6.

Looks like the patch needs a rebase to resolve some conflicts.

Please see below for a few comments.

There is no need of xasprintf above

You can just do

if (...) {
    filter = "both" ;
} else if (...) {
    filter = "to-lport" ;
} else {
    filter = "from-lport";
}

Same as above, no need to use xasprintf.

You can move the above sset declaration after the below return

This for loop is not efficient. We don't need to handle port mirror
stuff for all the port binding types.
Only for the port binding of type "" and which are local to the
chassis i.e local port bindings.
Either you can do the check here or inside ovn_port_mirror_handle_lport().

As mentioned above, you can return from this function here if the
'pb' is not of type ""
and not locally bound.

nit: Fix the indentation. There are many places in the file where
indentation is not proper.
Please fix them all.

Looks like you're not handling one more usecase.

For the below case

Attach a logical port to the mirror.
ovn-nbctl lsp-attach-mirror sw0-port1 mirror1

When the ovs interface for sw0-port1 is released, then the mirror in
the ovs database is not deleted.

i.e if I run
ovs-vsctl set interface sw0-port1 external_ids:iface-id=foo,  this
causes the ovn-controller to release the port binding sw0-port1,
but corresponding mirror is not deleted.

Please handle this use case with a test case scenario.

This is really odd.

With this code now, engine_run would be called twice if ovs_idl_txn is NULL.

That is not correct. If suppose ovnsb_idl_txn is not NULL and
ovs_id_txn is NULL,
then first engine_run(true) will be called and then engine_run(false).
We should call engine_run only once.

I think we can do something like

bool allow_engine_recompute = true;

if (!ovnsb_idl_txn || !ovs_idl_txn || ofctrl_has_backlog()) {
    allow_engine_recompute = false;
}

engine_run(allow_engine_recompute)

@Dumitru Ceara @Han Zhou Do you agree ?

In this patch a new engine node "mirror" is added which does txns to
the local ovsdb (create/delete mirror table)

Why can't mirror_cmp() has the below signature ?
