Dear Dev-Team,
we are running on a professional Hypervisor System (VMware vSphere). Our infrastructure is based on CISCO Switches and therefore we are using the PVLAN feature from CISCO (PVLAN RFC 5517). Soon we are planning to switch to Proxmox as our main Hypervisor System. The PVLAN Feature is used directly inside VMWare and has a direct support from VMware. To evaluate the purpose of all pros and cons and a plan to switch from VMware to Proxomx we have setup a Proxmox Test-System. We don't know if there is any planed support for PVLAN Feature in Open vSwitch in the upcoming releases. We have also read a lot of things about PVLAN on the mailing list, but this was discussed long time ago and is from ages. If there is an option to ask for the development of the support for PVLAN in Open vSwitch, we would be happy to support your work and would like to receive an offer from your side. We appreciated to get feedback from your side.
