Hi, I am working on user space based tunneling (I am using OVS DPDK). But I don't want to use the 2 Bridge setup (as suggested in ovs manual), as it put restriction to use normal processing pipeline. And the openvswitch bridge needs to be given the IP address interface. I want to control openvswitch remotely via only open flow interface, so that openvswitch bridge act as pure open flow switch.
Best option would be if OVS support some kind of open-flow action which can control push and pop tunnel action explicitly in open-flow processing pipeline. Unfortunately, I can't see any such option available today in OVS. I am interested to know, if any such work is in progress? I can see even Open-Flow spec doesn't have such option. Is it possible to update the spec with push and pop tunnel actions similar to push_vlan and pop_vlan followed by recirculation action on a logical tunnel interface. I need your suggestion and views on this.
