Thanks for your remind. Yes, this is how I personally resolve this issue.

While for the customer, if they are upgrading their ovs to a new version, will 
they have to reconfigure the interface?  If this is the case, personally I do 
not think this is a friendly way to them.

Doesn't OVS have a solution for this?

I think you can use network scripts and restart your network to configure back 
the br0's ip address whenever you reload openvswitch.ko

Is there any alternative that we could replace the openvswitch.ko without 
losing the bridge interfaces’ configuration?

The steps I used to replace the openvswitch on the centos.

1)    Compile the openvswitch

make -j `nproc`

make install

2)    Replace the openvswitch.ko

ovs-dpctl del-dp system@ovs-system

rmmod openvswitch

insmod ./datapath/linux/openvswitch.ko

ovs-ctl restart
