Hi, In the realm of PCI Express (PCIe), there is a set of interesting hardware technologies like NTB, CXL, ExpEther, ... that has yet to be virtualized.
As such compatible hardware are either expensive or not yet on the market, bringing these technologies to use with Hypervisors will open and accelerate innovation towards scalable fuild computing . Developping a software PCIe Switch would be a key enabler into this direction exactly as for Ethernet network switching, the role played by OVS/OVN for virtualized environments. Are there already some work in progress and/or ideas to setup a project plan ? Kind regards, Olivier
