I came across a paper by Orr Dunkelman, Nathan Keller, and Adi Shamir on 'Sandwich Attack' which describes shattering GSM 3G crypto implementation of A5/3 aka KASUMI in less than two hours on a normal PC, some of you might recognize Adi Shamir from his contribution to RSA encryption and FMS method used for cracking WEP.
Keeping in mind the fact that A5/1 took more than a couple of months for generation of rainbow tables KASUMI turned out to be a bummer. http://tr.im/OSxF Warm Regards, ------------------- Pranav Joshi Consultant [CISA/GHTQ/GWAS/Security+] Email: [email protected] Phone: +91-9958967766 Tel: 91-11-26536582/78 The information contained in this email and any attachments is confidential and may be subject to copyright or other intellectual property protection.
