I have a weather station bought from aagelectronica (old version). I've covered the electronics with clearcoat aerosol and removed the rj connector and soldered the wires. Those rj connectors will oxidize quickly. The ds1820 sensors i used are encapsulated completely in epoxy resin. (http://www.fstab.nl/en/parts)
